The National TU office has asked all TU chapters to update their chapter bylaws, to bring them in line with recent changes to the National bylaws. Your Board has been working on this and will present amended Chapter bylaws at the February 2, 2011 Chapter meeting, so that we can all vote on them. This is an important process, so please make an extra effort to attend this meeting, where we will also elect new officers and Board members.
Following the brief business meeting, which starts at 8:00 pm, we will view a demonstration on fly tying, from an area expert. We encourage you to bring your fly tying gear and tie along with the expert. Watch this site for details!

Seneca Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited is sponsoring a tree and shrub planting event on Beaver Creek, a headwater stream of the Chesapeake BayEarth day may be in April, but you have a chance in October to make a difference for the environment by helping plant trees and shrubs along Beaver Creek in Washington County (near Hagerstown, Md). The planting will establish a stream buffer and protect stream banks in a restored section of Beaver Creek.
| WHEN | October 16, 2010, at 9:00 a.m. until the job is done or you have to leave. It should not take much more than the morning if we have a lot of willing volunteers. (If you can come earlier to help distribute plants that would be helpful.) |

Are you tired of this long, hot summer? Want to get out going fishing? Where were you planning on going? Want to go someplace different that is not too far?SVTU has just the program for you! Come to our SVTU Chapter meeting September 22 and hear Tom Starrs talk about “Maryland Wild Trout Streams - The Ones We Don’t Talk About.” Tom, a long time member of the Maryland Chapter, has fished about “everywhere” in Maryland. He is willing to share some of his favorite locations to fish for wild trout — places that will be new to many of us. It sounds like an exciting program and a chance to lean about some new water, just in time for the cooler and hopefully wetter fall weather!SVTU will meet on Wednesday, September 22 at 7:30 in the Montgomery County Up-County Center in Germantown. The center is located at 12900 Middlebrook Road, Germantown, MD 20874.In addition to Tom’s presentation, we will have a short program by Benton McCarthey, the student that SVTU sponsored at the Tri-State Youth Camp.
